New Hires, Promotions, Partners

Anne Bensky, U.W. 2008, has joined Garvey McNeil & McGillivray S.C., Madison, as an associate and focuses on environmental law, civil rights, and employment law.

Timothy S. Crisp, Duke 1990, has joined the Madison office of Foley & Lardner LLP as a partner in the business law department and focuses on complex corporate and commercial transactions. He previously was with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.

Jordan K. Lamb, U.W. 2002, has been named a partner with the Madison office of DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C. and continues to concentrate on government relations, environmental law, and administrative law. Molly E. Hall, Washington & Lee 1988, has joined the firm in the environmental and litigation group. She previously was in private practice in Milwaukee and in Cologne, Germany.

Brian T. Flood, Syracuse 2000, has joined Hager, Dewick & Zuengler S.C., Green Bay, as an associate and focuses on commercial/business and civil litigation, employment law, construction law, and business planning. He previously practiced in Chicago and Appleton.

Michael Golden, Marquette 1991, has joined Derco Aerospace Inc., Milwaukee, as vice president and general counsel. He previously was with Mercury Marine.

Steven E. Hendrix, U.W. 1987, has been named director for national capacity development in Iraq with the U.S. Agency for International Development and oversees the provision of technical assistance and training to 13 Iraqi government ministries.

Peter M. Anderson, Marquette 2000, and Thomas W. Davis II, Marquette 1982, have joined Howard & Howard Attorneys P.C., Las Vegas, Nev. Anderson concentrates in gaming, regulatory compliance, and corporate law. Davis concentrates in business and corporate, construction, labor and employment, and family law.

Rebecca A. Kellner, Marquette 2008, has joined Schumann Law Office S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate and focuses primarily on worker's compensation matters.

Christopher J. MacGillis, Marquette 2008 cum laude, has joined the Germantown office of Vanden Heuvel & Dineen S.C. as an associate and focuses on personal injury, family, and real estate matters.

		Michael A. Marx, Marquette 2008, and Timothy M. Van de Kamp, Marquette 2005, have joined the Milwaukee office of Mallery & Zimmerman S.C. as associates and practice with the real estate, corporate/business, and lending groups. Van de Kamp previously was with DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C.

Thomas Nelson, Notre Dame 1973, has joined the Milwaukee field office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as supervisor for fair housing investigations. He previously was with Hawks Quindel Ehlke & Perry S.C., Milwaukee.

Jeffrey C. O'Brien, William Mitchell 2000 cum laude, has been named a shareholder of Mansfield Tanick & Cohen P.A., Minneapolis, and continues to practice in business transactions, real estate law, and estate planning/probate.

Ruth A. Pivar, Marquette 1991 cum laude, has joined Ungaretti & Harris LLP, Chicago, as a partner and chair of the trusts and estates practice and focuses on estate planning for entrepreneurial and family business clients. She previously was with DLA Piper.

		Steve Lipowski, U.W. 2000, has been promoted to shareholder at Ruder Ware LLSC, Wausau and Eau Claire, and continues to practice in real estate, intellectual property, trademark, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial and corporate law. Timothy M. Curran, Notre Dame 2000, has formed LaDue Curran & Kuehn LLC, 200 First Bank Building, 205 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Ind., which focuses on business litigation and labor and employment matters.

The Association for Women Lawyers has elected the following officers: president - Margo Kirchner; president-elect - Cathy Grogan; secretary - Sheila Heitzig; and treasurer Natalie Remington, all of Milwaukee.

James D. Dati, Creighton 1983, has been appointed to the Bonita Springs, Fla., charter review committee. He is a partner with Bond, Schoeneck & King P.A., Bonita Springs and Naples, and concentrates on representing closely-held businesses, developers, and financial institutions.

The Door County Bar Association has elected the following officer: president - Charles Wingrove, Sturgeon Bay.

Jerome G. Grzeca, Marquette 1988, has been elected to the American Immigration Lawyers Association board. He is the founding and managing partner of Milwaukee-based Grzeca Law Group S.C.

Stephen W. Hayes, Illinois 1969, has been elected vice president for the Wisconsin region of the Gift of Adoption Fund, which raises money to assist families adopting children. He is with Grady, Hayes & Neary LLC, Waukesha.

The Kenosha County Bar Association has elected the following officers: president - Ted Kmiec, Salem; president-elect - Joseph Easton, Kenosha; secretary - Donna Gilligan-Arendt, Kenosha; and treasurer - Jonathan Fritz, Kenosha.

The League of Wisconsin Municipalities-Municipal Attorneys has elected the following officers: president - Alan Kesner, Wauwatosa; and secretary - Constance Anderson, Madison.

Bob Lightfoot, Hamline 1995, has begun his term as president and board chair of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association. He is a partner with Murphy Desmond S.C., Madison, and focuses on assisted living facility and nursing home matters.

The Manitowoc County Bar Association has elected the following officers: president - Scott Lawrence, St. Nazianz; president-elect - Joseph M. Pozorski Jr., Manitowoc; and secretary/treasurer - Travis K. Glandt, Manitowoc.

Michael P. Maxwell, Marquette 2001, has been appointed as a commissioner on the Town of Brookfield Police and Fire Commission. Authors, Speakers

James Casey, Dayton 1988, recently lectured at the Queensland University of Technology Law School, Brisbane, Australia, on university research contracting. He is director of contracts and industrial agreements at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The Hon. Charles B. Schudson, U.W. 1974, presented "Marriage and the New American Family: Understanding the Reshaped Relationships Coming to America's Courts," at the Arizona Judicial Conference in Tucson in June.

Awards, Degrees, Honors

Michael B. Devine, Drake 1980, was admitted as a Fellow in international commercial arbitration of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, England, in May. He teaches courses on business law and legal ethics at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

James L. Santelle, Chicago 1983, received the Edmund J. Randolph Award and the Superior Honor Award from the U.S. government, both in recognition of his service as justice attaché and rule of law coordinator at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. He has returned to his position with the Office of the U.S. Attorney, Eastern District of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Charlotte F. Westerhaus, Indiana Univ.-Bloomington 1991, received the First Decade Award from the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). The award recognizes innovative contributions or outstanding services to the NACUA and to higher education law. She is vice president of diversity and inclusion for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Indianapolis.
